Breed makes a new batch from your picks: each feature comes from one of the parents, and a few change a little. Changes sets how far children drift; only Wild can switch a child to a different type (species, tile, prop or wall style). Picks stay at the start of the next batch. With nothing picked, Breed and Random both start fresh. Save adds your picks to the gallery; Edit opens one pick in the editor. In Walls, each pick is a set of six tiles: the wall and a door in it, shown front-on and side-on (left and right). Saving a set saves all six.
Drag the four dots onto the outer corners of the 16×16 grid. Move slowly for fine adjustments. The filled dot is row 1, column 1. Dots can go past the edge of the photo if the grid is cut off.
Move Faint marks to the right to keep light pencil shading, left to ignore it. You can fix any wrong pixels in the editor afterwards.
